Day 1
Cinematic cliff village + night lantern show.
Morning: Bullet train to Shangrao Station (from Shanghai ~4 hr, from Nanchang ~1 hr). Afternoon: 1 hr shuttle to Wangxian Valley (望仙谷). Check into a cliff-side stone inn. Evening: Explore the gorge — waterfalls, sky bridge, and the 19:30 Song-dynasty light show. Overnight in the valley.
Day 2
72 peaks, sea of clouds, less crowded than Sanqingshan.
Pre-dawn: Drive to Mount Lingshan (灵山) Wangxian entrance — it's right next door. Morning: Cable car up, hike Zhimu Peak boardwalk for sunrise + sea-of-clouds panorama. Afternoon: Descend, drive 1.5 hr to Yanshan County. Evening: Check in to Gexian Village (葛仙村). Riverside dinner as lanterns light up.
Day 3
Taoist alchemy, drum performances, floating lanterns.
Morning: Cable car up Gexian Mountain (葛仙山) to the Taoist temple; hike the ridge for sea-of-clouds views. Lunch: Taoist vegetarian meal at the mountaintop hall. Afternoon: Return to Gexian Village, watch the drum-and-flute performance. Evening: The floating lantern ceremony on the river — bring a real camera. Overnight in village.
Day 4
Golden terraces + whitewashed Hui-style villages.
Morning: 2.5 hr drive to Wuyuan (best March–April). Afternoon: Jiangling terraced rapeseed viewpoint + Likeng ancient village. Evening: Overnight in Sixi/Yancun ancient village. Try Wuyuan steamed fish for dinner.
Day 5
UNESCO granite peaks + cliff-side plank walk.
Morning: 2 hr drive to Sanqingshan (三清山). Cable car up. Afternoon: Cliff-side plank loop, Goddess of Sanqingshan viewpoint. Evening: Descend to Shangrao Station. High-speed rail out (Hangzhou 2 hr, Shanghai 4 hr, Nanchang 1 hr).
