Why visit Nanchang

Nanchang is the capital of Jiangxi — famous for the 1927 uprising that founded the People's Liberation Army, the 7th-century Tengwang Pavilion (one of the Three Great Towers of Southern China), and Poyang Lake (China's largest freshwater lake, migratory bird sanctuary in winter).

Nanchang cuisine

Jiangxi food is spicier than most people expect. Signature dishes: 瓦罐汤 (clay-pot soups) simmered overnight, 南昌拌粉 (Nanchang stirred rice noodles), 藜蒿炒腊肉 (Chinese mugwort with cured pork). Try 煌上煌 (Huangshanghang) for street-side sauced duck necks.
